For children aged 3–15

What is actually in the app

No download counts, no star ratings, no quotes from parents: Knoo is new and has none of those to show you. Here is what it does have.

  • 172voiced mini-lessons
  • 20learning roadmaps
  • 52illustrated stories
  • 280Who Am I? puzzles
  • 24collectible avatars
  • 3voices to choose from

Five things it does

One friend, five ways to use it

Every one of them is written down before your child gets there. The lessons, the stories and the puzzles are authored content, not a model deciding what to teach on the spot.

    Talk to it

Voice calls are a real conversation, not a walkie-talkie. Your child speaks, Knoo answers out loud, and they can cut in the moment they think of something better — no waiting for it to finish.

    Learn something

172 mini-lessons, every line narrated so a child who cannot read yet can still take one. Check-ins are a tap, and 344 of them have no wrong answer at all — the star is for finishing, never for scoring.

52 illustrated stories — bedtime, classic, and twelve that branch where your child picks what happens next. A sleep timer fades the narration out instead of stopping dead.

Who Am I? gives clues and waits for a guess — 280 puzzles across four age bands. The answers sit in a written bank the model never sees, so the game cannot invent one.

Describe anything — a dragon on a skateboard, the view from your street — and Knoo draws it, in whichever of five art styles your child picks.

Learning

Twenty roadmaps. One of them is your child’s.

Five subjects across four age bands, 6 lessons each, in a fixed order written ahead of time — so it goes somewhere instead of wandering.

Learning roadmaps by subject and age band. Each row of dots is one roadmap: 6 lessons, in order, every line narrated.

  • Nothing is marked wrong for the sake of it

344 check-ins across the library have no correct answer at all — the player draws no cross, because there is nothing to be wrong about. Stars are awarded for finishing a lesson, never for scoring well on it.

  • Read aloud, all of it

All 172 lessons are narrated line by line, so a four-year-old who cannot read yet can take the same lesson as a nine-year-old who can.

Stories

A library, not a story generator

Fifty-two stories written in advance, each with its own cover illustration. Your child reads them or is read to.

The shelf

Fifty-two stories, 518 passages of them. Twelve stop and ask your child what happens next.

20 bedtime20 classic12 interactive

  • A sleep timer that fades

End of story, plus five minutes, plus fifteen, or off. The countdown only runs while the story is playing, and the narration fades out rather than cutting mid-word.

  • Twelve that branch

Thirty-three choice points across the interactive stories, and 99 passages your child only ever sees if they pick that way.

  • Send one yourself

Choose a story from the parent zone, add a note in your own words, and it arrives in your child’s app marked as being from you.

Now the lights come on.

Everything above is your child’s half of the app. Everything below is yours.

Safety

What happens before Knoo answers

Three things, in this order, every time your child sends a message.

  1. Classified first

Every message a child sends is run through a safety classifier before Knoo is allowed to answer it — not after.

  2. Read from a script

When something serious comes up, Knoo does not improvise. It reads copy written by people, in the wording chosen for that child's age, and points to more than one grown-up they could tell.

  3. You get told

The moment is logged as a safety alert in your parent zone, and an urgent one is emailed to you. The alert goes to the parent, never to the child.

  • COPPA-aligned
  • PIN-protected parent zone
  • Ad-free — no ad or analytics SDK in the app
  • No outside links, ever
  • Game answers come from a written bank, not a model

A word about badges. Pages like this one usually carry a row of certification logos right about here. Knoo does not hold any, so this page does not show any. COPPA-aligned, PIN-protected and ad-free are things we built; they are not awards anybody gave us. If Knoo is ever certified by someone, we will name them.

Parent zone

The grown-up half of the app

Behind one PIN: when Knoo is allowed to be open, for how long, what was said, and what got flagged.

  • Bedtime

Set the hour Knoo says goodnight. A 30-minute wind-down comes first, and you can grant one 10-minute extension a night.

  • School hours

Pick the days and the window. Knoo stays shut during class and opens again after.

  • Daily minutes

Anything from 15 minutes to 4 hours a day, or no limit at all.

  • Allowed days

Weekends only, weekdays only, or whichever days you choose.

  • Chat transcripts

Read the last 30 days of your child's chats, grouped by day, on your own device.

  • Safety alerts

Every flagged moment, sorted by how serious it was. Urgent ones also arrive by email.

  • Send a story

Pick a story from the library, add a note, and it lands in your child's app from you.

  • One PIN in front of all of it

The parent zone sits behind a PIN with a lockout on repeated wrong tries, and the PIN hash is never readable by the app.

Questions

What parents ask first

What age is Knoo for?

Ages 3 to 15. The app asks for your child's age once and then adapts to one of four bands — 3–5, 6–8, 9–12 and 13–15. The band decides which lessons, stories and puzzles they see, how long the answers are, and the exact wording Knoo uses if a difficult subject comes up.

Does my child talk to it, or type?

Either. A voice call is a real spoken conversation: your child talks, Knoo answers out loud, and they can cut in mid-sentence without waiting for it to finish. There are three voices to pick from — Sunny, Maple and Rocket. Typed chat works the same way, just quieter.

How do you stop it from saying the wrong thing?

Three ways. Every message is classified before Knoo is allowed to answer it. Serious subjects get scripted copy written by people rather than anything the model makes up. And Knoo never sends a link or names an outside website — that rule is enforced on its way out, not left to the model's judgement.

Can I see what my child talked about?

Yes. The parent zone keeps the last 30 days of chat transcripts, grouped by day, on your device. Anything the safety classifier flagged is listed separately as an alert, and urgent ones are emailed to you as well.

Is Knoo certified as safe for children?

No, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Knoo is COPPA-aligned, PIN-protected and completely ad-free, with no advertising or analytics SDK anywhere in the app — but it holds no third-party safety certification, so you will not find a certification badge on this page.

Are the lessons any good, or is it a model improvising?

They are written down. 172 mini-lessons, each one a fixed script with its own narration, plus 280 Who Am I? puzzles whose answers live in an authored bank the model never sees. A model does not decide whether your child's guess was right; the code does, by checking the written answer.

What does it cost?

Premium is $14.99 a month or $89.99 a year. Max is $39.99 a month or $249.99 a year. Before either, every account gets a one-time free trial — 70 questions, 4 pictures and 5 voice minutes, once, not every month.

Is there a free plan?

No. There is a one-time free trial so you can see the app before paying, and it does not reset. We would rather say that plainly than call it a free tier and let you find out later.

Can I use it on more than one device?

On Premium and Max, yes — those plans sync your child's progress to the cloud so it follows them between devices. The trial keeps everything on one device.

When can I download it?

Knoo is not in the App Store or on Google Play yet. The badges on this page will become live links the day the listings go up.

Knoo is nearly here.

The app is built and the library is full. The store listings are the last thing left.
